Cohen
Jason Cohen first
wrote about the Austin Ice Bats for Texas
Monthly, where, as a Contributing Editor, he has
also covered the likes of Daniel Johnston, Matthew
McConaughey, Ricky Williams, Ty and Koy Detmer,
Dan Jenkins and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Born in Allentown,
PA and raised in Philadelphia, Cohen is a lifelong Flyers
fan who prefers #17 to #88. When it isn't hockey season
he enjoys being frustrated by the Philadelphia Phillies,
the Philadelphia Eagles and the Penn State Nittany Lions,
to say nothing of his alma mater, Northwestern University.
He has lived in South Austin since 1990 -- one year
after he first visited the city for a Penn State-UT
football game (Penn State won).
Cohen has also
written about sports, books, movies, TV, comics, sex,
politics and metaphysics for such publications as TV
Guide, Rolling Stone, Ray Gun, Details, Request, the
Austin Chronicle, Option, the Asbury Park Press, Mademoiselle
and SPIN. He is the co-author (with Michael Krugman)
of the book "Generation Ecch" (Fireside, 1994).
He can't skate.
